Ours Privacy’s Consent Management Platform Now Meets WCAG 2.2 Level AA Accessibility Standards
A meaningful share of any patient population lives with a disability that shapes how they use the web, whether that’s navigating by keyboard, relying on a screen reader, or depending on captions to follow a video. When the tools on your site don't account for that, those patients get left out of the moments that matter most: understanding their care and acting on it.
By building accessibility in, you give every visitor an experience that works for them, however they navigate the web. And accessibility evidence is increasingly showing up in the same reviews as privacy and security. That's why we initiated an independent, third-party accessibility audit to confirm that the Ours Privacy consent management platform conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and Section 508.
What is WCAG 2.2 Level AA?
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) set the global standard for digital, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Level AA is the benchmark most organizations and regulations point to, including Section 508 of the United States Rehabilitation Act.
To meet it, we have have enhanced accessibility features including:
Keyboard navigation
Screen reader compatibility
Color contrast and readability
Captions and media alternatives
Our conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA has been validated by an independent third-party accessibility audit firm and documented in a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT). A VPAT is the standardized document procurement and compliance teams use to evaluate accessibility.
Because ours reflects an independent audit rather than a self-assessment, a reviewer can see exactly which criteria were tested and confirmed by a neutral third party.
What offerings now conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA?
The audit covered all four of the components you embed directly on your website:
Consent Management Platform
Video Player
Translation Widget
Maps
What does this mean for your team?
Prove third-party verification by requesting a VPAT
Each of these components now comes with a VPAT you can request and pass directly to your own security, privacy, and compliance reviewers. That puts accessibility evidence in the same packet as everything else they already evaluate, so your team doesn't have to chase it down or document it from scratch.
To request a copy of the VPAT for a procurement or compliance review, contact support@oursprivacy.com.
Stay prepared as requirements evolve
Accessibility expectations across healthcare are moving steadily toward independent verification rather than self-reporting. As that shift continues, having a third-party VPAT on hand means you're positioned for the next procurement questionnaire, security review, or regulatory update before it arrives.
How does customization impact conformance?
This conformance covers our default implementations. Customization (including overriding font sizes, colors, or contrast, for example) can change how a component renders for someone using assistive technology. Please be aware that customization can impact your website’s conformance to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
In short:
Accessibility is part of the same commitment that shapes how we approach privacy: making sure every patient can trust and safely use your marketing materials. With this audit complete, the components of your website that your visitors interact with most are independently verified and documented as meeting modern accessibility standards.
