Full-time
Senior Platform Engineer
About Ours Privacy
Ours Privacy is building the marketing infrastructure healthcare has been missing. We pair a privacy-first Customer Data Platform (CDP) with a Consent Management Platform (CMP) in one integrated product, so healthcare marketers can run real campaigns and measure real results without putting patient data where it doesn't belong.
We're one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in the country, and our customers depend on us for infrastructure that's always on. Privacy isn't a constraint on the marketing work our clients do — it's what makes the good version of it possible. That belief runs through the product and the team.
The role
Our platform moves high volumes of sensitive event data through AWS every day, across dozens of third-party destinations. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you'll own the infrastructure that carries it: how it's provisioned, how it scales, how quickly we can ship to it, and how fast we know when something is wrong.
This is a broad, high-ownership role on a small team. You'll set the standards for how we run production, and you'll have the latitude to fix the things you find. You'll work alongside product and integrations engineers, and you'll write plenty of application code too — we don't draw a hard line between building and operating.
The role reports to engineering leadership and is fully remote within the US.
What you'll do
Own our AWS footprint. Design and evolve the architecture behind our services — Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, and CloudWatch — with an eye on throughput, resilience, and cost.
Codify the infrastructure. Bring our environments under consistent infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CDK), so provisioning, promoting, and recovering are repeatable rather than remembered.
Make the data pipeline dependable at scale. Tune event ingestion and delivery for throughput and correctness: retries, idempotency, dead-letter queues, backpressure, and graceful degradation when a downstream partner has a bad day.
Improve how we ship. Strengthen CI/CD, test infrastructure, and local development so engineers can move quickly with confidence. Developer experience is part of the mandate, not a side project.
Build the observability we want to be paged by. Meaningful metrics, traces, and alerts on latency, queue depth, error budgets, and data flow anomalies — signal over noise.
Support our security and compliance posture. Partner with engineering and legal on the technical controls, access boundaries, encryption practices, logging, and audit evidence that support our HIPAA and SOC 2 commitments.
Lead through the work. Set technical direction, write the design docs, review code, and raise the bar for the engineers around you.
What we're looking for
5–8 years of software or infrastructure engineering experience, including meaningful time owning production systems.
Deep AWS experience, with real fluency in serverless and containerized patterns.
Strong TypeScript / Node.js. Our services and integrations are TypeScript, with React on the admin application.
Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CDK, or equivalent) and a preference for automation over runbooks.
A track record with event-driven or streaming data systems, and the operational instincts that come from debugging them under load.
Practical observability experience — you've built the dashboards and alerts that actually caught the incident.
Comfort taking systems from spec to production and owning the outcome, including the parts that aren't fun.
Clear written communication. We're remote and we work asynchronously, so how you explain a tradeoff matters as much as the tradeoff you pick.
Nice to have
Experience in a regulated environment — healthcare, fintech, or similar — including HIPAA, SOC 2, or PHI handling.
Background at an early-stage company where you helped establish the platform rather than inherit it.
Familiarity with the marketing technology ecosystem: CDPs, ad platform APIs, conversion tracking, or consent frameworks.
Data engineering range: warehouses, ETL, schema evolution.
Why you might want this
Real ownership. Small team, large surface area, and a direct line from your work to what customers experience.
Work that matters. Healthcare marketers want to reach patients well and handle their data responsibly. We build the infrastructure that lets them do both.
Remote and async by default, with a team that respects focused time.
A growing company where the platform decisions being made now will hold for years.
