  • Define categories like Analytics or Advertising

  • Assign destinations to those categories

  • Decide the logic that determines whether an event is allowed to flow

If an event doesn't meet your rules, it never leaves the system. No HTTP request is sent. No partial data slip-through. This helps ensure your data handling aligns with your compliance requirements.

Categories, rules, and logic in action

Here’s how it works in practice:

  • A user in California opts out under CPRA (which typically requires respecting opt-out preferences).

  • You've set an "Analytics" category with logic to respect that preference.

  • Any event from that user is automatically blocked from flowing into destinations that fall under that category.

Destinations can belong to multiple categories. If there’s overlap, the first matching rule applies. And if no rule matches? The data dispatch is allowed—keeping things efficient and predictable.

This point-and-click simplicity replaces custom code and scattered settings. It’s consent logic you can trust at a glance.
